PAN

Personal Area Network. This is really pushed by Microsoft it seemed a while ago. The goal of PAN is to connect different devices as worn on the body, such as wrist watch, cell phone, pace maker, and other surgically implanted devices. The means of transporting data would be done through the conductivity of the human body or wireless. The body is a fairly good conductor due to the evaporation of water through the pores.

Morals will dictate how well these will be accepted in society. Some say it will make life easier, others say it's the first step toward become a cyborg/borg.

A PAN will usually connect through a LAN to the Internet where it may send or receive data such as instructions, love letters and advertising.
