X is the X Window System as designed by Project Athena at MIT. It is a graphical user environment that allows cursor movement over windows as displayed on the monitor. Cursor movement can be a mouse or trackball and other haptic like devices.
X is the standard UBO graphic environment. The two most popular, free, open source X servers are X.org and XFree86.
